Information about the procedure

Spider Web aesthetics is a skin lifting, firming, and rejuvenating technique, which Doctor B has practiced in his clinics and taught in practice-based training programs held for doctors since the year 2011. In this technique, PDO (polydioxanone) threads are placed under the skin in the shape of a spider web. These special threads have long been in use in several types of operations with giving no harms to the well-being of the body. Spider Web aesthetics can be applied in any part of the body covered with skin. Anatomical knowledge, an artistic point of view, and knowledge of the fine details of the technique are of critical importance. This technique is used for firming and improving the contours, restoring the sagged areas, helping them to resist the effects of the gravity, and treating primarily the skin creases along with several deformations in the skin. Spider Web Aesthetics can be performed to many parts of the body; including the face, breasts, hips, abdomen, vagina, and thighs. It can be performed in the clinical environment without any surgical interventions or it can be performed in combination with the fat transfer process in the operating suite.

The main purpose of placing the threads under the skin is to induce the self-healing capacity of the skin. The body will build its biological web around the placed threads. Over time; even though these threads are absorbed, the biological web of the body will remain intact in the area of intervention. Because the production of collagen, elastin, and fibroblast synthesis is induced with this process; the benefits of firming and restoration occur. It is also possible to perform reshaping using the threads.

Ideal Candidates For Spider Web Aesthetics

Spider Web Aesthetics can be applied to many areas in the body; including the face, hips, breasts, abdomen, thighs, and arms. It is both a preventive mode of therapy and treatment for the existing problems. Therefore, everyone can undergo this procedure. Especially individuals; who experience sagging, fine creases, and deformation in their skin, and who have realistic expectations can prefer to undergo this procedure.

The threads placed under the skin in the Spider Web aesthetics trigger the synthesis of collagen, creating a lifting effect. The threads induce the collagen synthesis for 2-3 years most effectively after the procedure. Although the effect will start diminishing over time, it lasts during the whole lifespan. The threads turn into a supporting structure under the skin, stimulating the production of natural collagen. When you feel that the effect diminishes, you can undergo a repeat procedure.

After the administration of local anesthesia, the threads are placed under the skin using a micro needle. This is a very special procedure and Doctor B develops a customized plan for the individual so that the best outcomes will be achieved. If the procedure is to be performed in combination with the fat transfer in the operation suite; first, the regional fat will be harvested and enriched in stem cells. Then, the fat is transferred to the entry ports of the threads already placed under the skin.

You must come to our clinic with your make-up thoroughly cleaned and your skin perfectly cleansed. If you regularly take a blood-thinning medication such as aspirin, you should stop taking this medication 3 days before the treatment after consulting with your doctor. And, you should inform the Doctor B Team about this issue. This type of medications increases the risk of bruising. And finally, you should stay away from alcohol during the 3 days before treatment.

This varies from person to person but 80% of our patients recover in 2-3 days with low dosage painkillers. We have patients who have gone through the recovery period without taking any painkiller medications.

Avoid using alcohol and anticoagulant drugs for 7 days. Also, avoid blood-thinning vitamins such as vitamin A, C, and E; as well as anticoagulants such as aspirin for a week after the procedure.

Avoid solarium and exposure to direct sunlight and use a sunscreen of at least 30 SPF when going out. You can gently wash the area of intervention starting from the same day. Avoid rubbing or massaging the area for at least two weeks. If the area of intervention is your face, avoid opening your mouth too much for up to 4 weeks and cancel your dental appointments at least for the two weeks after the treatment.

Avoid hot and cold environments with extreme temperatures like a cold shower or a hot shower, hammam or bathtubs for at least 10 days.

Take at least a week's break from strenuous workouts. There is no harm in walking and performing mild sports.

Avoid undergoing procedures using heat generating devices such as RF or cosmetic laser treatment for at least 10 weeks.

You will experience tension in your skin. This tension feeling disappears in 5 weeks. It starts to decrease in the second week and after an average of 4-5 weeks, it will be recovered as a whole.

Since the Spider Web aesthetics is based on the production of new collagen, you will experience an improvement process that continues in the next two to six months after the procedure. You will feel the change day by day increasing in intensity.

The duration of the procedure will vary depending on many factors, such as the size of your treatment area, but it usually takes 30 to 60 minutes. This period can take up to 2 hours when it is combined with the fat transfer procedure in the operating suite.
